Sulky Ultra Solvy is the heavy-weight version of the popular Solvy water soluble stabiliser. Where standard Solvy handles everyday topping tasks on pile fabrics, Ultra Solvy steps in for the more demanding jobs — particularly standalone lace and 3D embroidery designs where the stabiliser itself forms part of the structure during stitching. Its extra thickness and strength means it holds its shape under dense stitch counts without tearing, giving you clean, precise results even on the most intricate designs.

To use: cut a piece slightly larger than your embroidery hoop, place it on top of your fabric (or use as a self-supporting base for lace work), and hoop as normal. Stitch your design as usual. Once complete, tear away as much of the stabiliser as possible by hand — it perforates cleanly around the stitches. Rinse any remaining residue away with cold water. Always use cold water, not warm, to avoid any risk of shrinkage on delicate fabrics.
