Janome Iron On Backing Stabiliser 35cm Wide 10 Metre Roll Embroidery Machine

Janome Iron-On Backing Stabiliser – 35cm (14") Wide | 10 Metre Roll Material: iron-on tear-away stabiliser (bonds to fabric with heat) Width: 35cm (approx. 14 inches) Length: 10 metre roll Construction: backing stabiliser — irons on beneath fabric to stabilise fibres and prevent puckering and distortion during embroidery Origin: [please confirm] Use cases: machine embroidery backing for woven fabrics, shirts, jackets, bags, and any fabric requiring firm underside support; use multiple layers for heavy stitch count designs Sold as a single 10 metre roll Part number: BB66110 No further discounts on this item Janome Iron-On Stabiliser is a purpose-made embroidery backing — not an interfacing. This is an important distinction: interfacings are designed for dressmaking and have a degree of give, which makes them unsuitable for embroidery. Embroidery stabiliser is engineered to hold fabric fibres completely still under the needle, preventing the puckering and distortion that ruins an otherwise well-stitched design. The iron-on bond locks the stabiliser to the underside of your fabric before hooping, giving a firm, consistent base across the entire hoop area — which also protects the fabric from being stretched by the hoop itself. To use: cut a piece large enough to cover the entire hoop area, place it on the reverse of your fabric with the adhesive side down, and press with a warm iron until bonded. Hoop the fabric as normal and stitch your design. Once complete, tear the stabiliser away from the back of the stitching. If it resists, run a warm iron over it briefly — this relaxes the bond and makes removal much easier. For designs with heavy stitch counts, use two or more layers for best results.Colour accuracy: product images are representative. Sulky Ultra Solvy Water Soluble Stabiliser – 33cm (13") Wide | 3 Metre Roll Material: heavy-weight water soluble film (dissolves completely in cold water) Width: 33cm (approx. 13 inches) Length: 3 metre roll Construction: twice as thick, strong and heavy as standard Solvy — transparent topping stabiliser for demanding embroidery applications Origin: [please confirm] Use cases: standalone lace designs, 3D embroidery work, monogramming, quilting, lace making, buttonholes, edges, shadow work, thread sketching, applique, fagotting, cut work and delicate fabrics; topping stabiliser for towelling, velvet, draylon, fleece and knitwear Sold as a single 3 metre roll Comes with full instructions Part number: US40403 No further discounts on this item Sulky Ultra Solvy is the heavy-weight version of the popular Solvy water soluble stabiliser. Where standard Solvy handles everyday topping tasks on pile fabrics, Ultra Solvy steps in for the more demanding jobs — particularly standalone lace and 3D embroidery designs where the stabiliser itself forms part of the structure during stitching. Its extra thickness and strength means it holds its shape under dense stitch counts without tearing, giving you clean, precise results even on the most intricate designs. To use: cut a piece slightly larger than your embroidery hoop, place it on top of your fabric (or use as a self-supporting base for lace work), and hoop as normal. Stitch your design as usual. Once complete, tear away as much of the stabiliser as possible by hand — it perforates cleanly around the stitches. Rinse any remaining residue away with cold water. Always use cold water, not warm, to avoid any risk of shrinkage on delicate fabrics.Colour accuracy: product images are representative. Actual appearance may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.

Janome Solvy Water Soluble Stabiliser 33cm Wide 10 Metre Roll Embroidery

Janome Solvy Water Soluble Stabiliser – 33cm (13") Wide | 10 Metre Roll Material: water soluble film (dissolves completely in cold water) Width: 33cm (approx. 13 inches) Length: 10 metre roll Construction: transparent topping stabiliser — sits on top of fabric during embroidery, not beneath it Origin: Taiwan Use cases: embroidery on towelling, velvet, draylon, fleece, knitwear and any pile or textured fabric; monogramming, quilting, lace making, buttonholes, edges, shadow work, thread sketching, applique, fagotting, 3D work, cut work and delicate fabrics Sold as a single 10 metre roll Comes with full instructions Part number: WS48610 No further discounts on this item Janome Solvy is a topping stabiliser designed to solve one of the most common embroidery headaches — pile fabrics swallowing your stitches. When you embroider directly onto towelling, velvet, or knitwear, the loops and fibres push up between the stitches and give a ragged, unprofessional result. Laying a sheet of Solvy on top of the fabric before hooping keeps the pile flat and gives the needle a clean, stable surface to stitch through. The result is sharper stitch definition and a much cleaner finish. To use: cut a piece slightly larger than your embroidery hoop, place it on top of your fabric, and hoop both together as normal. Stitch your design as usual. Once complete, tear away as much of the stabiliser as you can by hand — it perforates cleanly around the stitches. Any remaining residue dissolves completely when dabbed with cold water, leaving no stiffness or residue behind. Always use cold water, not warm, to avoid any risk of shrinkage on delicate fabrics.
